Presentation transcript:

Did you know that Tiger Woods makes about 63 million dollars every year, and an average doctor will make about 225,000?

 Professional athletes are getting overpaid. What about the ones that save lives? Or The ones that protect us and fight for our country? They don’t even get a tenth of the amount Tiger Woods get for playing golf. What about the teachers? Teachers also play a big role in the students life. They are the ones that should be getting paid 63 million dollars a year not any entertainers.

 Many athletes have grown up poor. Once the athletes got loads of money they didn’t know what to do with it, and blow it off on stupid things like luxurious cars, alcohol, and drugs. With that money why not donate it to charities that need it. Or you could even send it to Africa where children are starving and aren't getting food, or don’t have up to date textbooks. Why not give it to cancer research funds. Many people donate to it, but is it just for publicity. That’s what superstar John Cena said in the jimmy fallen show.

Many professional athletes have criminal records. This is because the money got in their head. For Ex: Floy MayWeather, the highest paid athlete. He has 8 criminal records(including beating women). Yet there are many retired athletes that have gone bankrupt, and stole and got caught. See what too much money does to you.

 Instead of over paying the entertainers, why not pay the ones with a degree. Or the ones who save our lives each and everyday sacrificing them selves and their families just to protect the country. I think these are the real heroes. The guys are the ones children should be looking up to. Doctors, soldiers, police, firefighters, teachers, and engineers.

 LGFI

 Some people support the athletes side. They say that the reason why the get paid so much is because of their injuries. The surgery they need for the injuries is very expensive. Also, they travel a lot, so they need money for plain tickets, and busses.

 We all know Brandon Jennings right? He earns 3.1million a year. Recently he broke his leg and the surgery bill was only 35,000 dollars. What happens to the rest of the money? How is this a big problem when he earns 3.1 million a year and only spends 35,000 dollar for his surgery.

 In conclusion I think professional athletes are overpaid. There Is no need for them to get that much money just to waste. Even though some athletes might donate, not all of them do.
