Measure Workbook Update Summary An updated extract from the California Energy Commission (CEC) database used to represent current market conditions. Latest ProCost template used for this measure workbook; workbook formatted, sourced, and made easily updatable. Measure EUL updated using DOE’s Technical Support Document (20 years to 17 years) – Source for previous workbook: FY10 Analysis Assumption – Source for proposed EUL: Latest DOE Technical Support Document – The proposed EUL value is consistent with the RUL value currently being used for Refrigerator Recycling.

Measure Workbook Update Summary The previous RTF workbook used an average volume (21 Cu. Ft.) for all refrigerator configurations. – The proposed methodology uses an average volume for each configuration type as represented in the CEC database. (Explained further using the Workbook) – This proposed methodology is consistent with methodology for Commercial Refrigerators. – See graphic on “Presentation” Tab in the measure workbook. Apart from updates to EUL and average refrigerator volume, the UES calculation methodology remain unchanged.

Summary of Changes Baseline conditions have become more efficient since the last update. – Previous Workbook showed Baseline to be 9% more efficient than Federal Standard Consumption. – Proposed baseline is 18 % more efficient than Federal Standard Consumption. Due to the increase in baseline efficiency, energy savings have decreased for almost all Configuration Types and Efficiency Level combinations. Incremental costs have decreased as well, but to a lesser extent than the Energy Savings decrease. The following Category Type and Efficiency Level combinations do not pass TRC: – Side by Side with Ice Through Door – CEE Tier 3 – Side by Side without Ice Through Door – CEE Tier 2 and Tier 3 – Any Refrigerator, CEE Tier 1
