A Disclaimer Much of the information you see here is not as thorough as we would like it to be. Faculty Retreat usually takes as much at 4+ months of planning. Our schedules assumed a late April presentation date. We are planning on administering a follow- up survey.

Academics Material Covered in Classes –93% of students find material in EECS classes interesting and useful. –~90% of students feel professors are providing motivation for material in classes.

Academics Class Documents –Students find lecture notes, project specs and homework well-prepared. Good job! Keep up the good work.

Academics EECS Introduction Seminar –Most students would find an introduction seminar helpful. –Possible solution: seminar similar to Eng 92, Perspectives in Engineering Invite professors from different fields to talk about their field of interest.

Academics False Assumptions of Student Understanding –Students feel that professors assume that we know more than we really do. –Possible solution: Gauge student understanding by administering a diagnostic at the beginning of the semester.

Academics Comprehensive Projects –Most students find comprehensive projects a good way to learn material. –Option 2 students feel just as strongly as EECS students as a whole. –Suggestion: Add comprehensive projects to EE120 series classes.

Student Programs Current Internship Program –It is no better than CalJobs through Career Center. –It offers no advantage for Berkeley students. –It does not ensure job positions that offer challenging and applicable work.

Student Programs Thesis in Honors Program –Current Honors Program has lost its prestige. –Possible solution: Option of completing a thesis in the Honors Program ~27% of students would find a thesis useful.
