Sampling at fish farm IZVOR Type of samples (based on visual inspection take a fish or pieces of the organs to be examined: kidney, heart, lien and brain (minimum of 0.5gr from each organ); fish food Number of samples (5 samples of 50 fish which have clinical symptoms or near death; 10 samples of dead fish) Sample packing (in sterile plastic tubes containing transport medium and relevant labeling; transport temperature up to 4 degrees, avoiding freezing; deliver to laboratory in 48 hours) Relevant data that should accompany sample are forms containing data on farm registration number, owner, anamnesis data on water clarity, and records by the farm’s owner; date and time of sampling and delivery to the lab

Disease control in the zone Measures concerning neighboring farms: official surveillance, and sampling Establish protection and surveillance zone (depending on the geographic and epidemiological status); ban on commercial management of aquatic animals Increase the levels of biosecurity measures
