Barack Obama By: Tytianna Jackson and Jalissa Monegro

 The candidate I am profiling is Barack Obama.  The political party this candidate represents is Democrat.  What other political offices has this person had his career? He worked several jobs after graduating college. One of those jobs was as a community organizer in Chicago, Illinois.  What prior political an leadership experience does Barack Obama have that makes him qualified to be president? He has a Harvard Law Degree and was the first African American President of the Harvard Law. He worked as an attorney and constitutional law teacher at the University Of Chicago School Of Law. He was an Illinois state senator from 1996 to 2004.

 Families that have jobs and work are protected from losing their health care. They are also protected from being forced into bankruptcy when someone from their family gets sick or is in an accident. Which means that families can have the security of knowing that their health insurance will be there when they really need it.  Because of this law 34 million more Americans will increase coverage and for many of them this will be the first time they will be able to afford insurance. When this law is completely implemented, about 95% of Americans under age 65 will have insurance. Barack Obama Liberal

 President Obama doubled our investment in scholarships and financial aid so students from working- and middle-class families could attend and complete the college education that they need to get good jobs in the future.  President Obama challenged schools and states to keep high- quality teachers. Also to keep students in school until they graduate or at least until they turn 18.  To use local solutions to better their schools, President Obama acted with the No Child Left Behind mandates. Barack Obama Liberal

 President Obama proposed the Buffett Rule, asking millionaires and billionaires to do their fair share. But if you're one of the 98% of American families who make less then $250,000 a year, your taxes won’t go up.  Barack Obama asked Congress to take action to reform our tax code and close tax loopholes for millionaires and billionaires. And also as well as hedge fund managers, private jet owners, and oil companies. Barack Obama Conservative

 President Obama says that if the international community does not act rapidly to deal with climate change that “we risk consigning future generations to an irreversible catastrophe.”  Obama said “The security and stability of each nation and all peoples—our prosperity, our health, and our safety—are in jeopardy, and the time we have to reverse this tide is running out.” Barack Obama Liberal

 Replacing real affirmative action makes me uncomfortable because real racism still exists. It has been marginalized but not eradicated. The idea of the down-trodden being granted a helping hand getting job interviews is a good thing. An interview does not guarantee a job. Most importantly, once the person gets the job, they are forced to perform as everybody else. Barack Obama Liberal

 Obama agrees to an individual's right to bear arms, in principle, but does not take it as an absolute right and considers it as a negotiable subject. Barack Obama Liberal

Barack Obama Liberal  He believe that immigration could stay in the United States. If they were raised in the United States they should be apart of it and if they came here then they are Americans too.

“Now, it's not for me to suggest that you shouldn't be troubled by these issues. I understand that and I'm sympathetic to it. But my job as president is going to be to make sure that the legal rights that have consequences on a day to day basis for loving same sex couples all across the country, that those rights are recognized and enforced by my White House and by my Justice Department.” Barack Obama Liberal  Obama is liberal when it comes down to same sex marriage. He believes that they should also have their own rights as loving same sex couples.
