 “Scientists estimate that plastics are killing as many as a million seabirds and over100,000 sea mammals each year. Plastics have been found in the stomachs of manatees,fish, birds, dolphins a nd whales. Leatherback turtles frequently mistak e plastic bagsfloating in the sea for one of their favorite foods, jellyfish. As these plastics accum ulate intheir intestines, the animals slowly starv e” (LeBeau).
