SUMMARIES OŠ DRAVLJE LJUBLJANA SLOVENIA

WHY DID WE ASK THE QUESTION? In our school there are children from different cultures. We are friends and we wanted to know how people and children around the world accept people who are different.

WHAT DID WE KNOW ABOUT THE THEME WHEN WE STARTED? Our teacher explained us the theme of this project. We knew that people are different but we didn´t know that children in other schools also have little free time. We all have to study a lot.

WHAT DID WE LEARN IN OUR CLASSROOM? We learnt to accept our responibilities, to share work, to participate. We are glad we had the opportunity to use English. Sometimes our teacher helped us too, because we don´t know so much grammar.

WHAT DID WE EXPECT TO LEARN? This was our first international project so we didn´t expect much. We learnt a good experience for the future. We would like to become friends (penpals, exchange of the students, …)

WHAT DID WE LEARN FROM THE RESPONSES OF THE STUDENTS? Children must study a lot. Scool is very important in all countries. We spend our free time in similar ways: -we play sports on playgrounds, which are near the schools, -We play computer games, -We hang around after school,…

School systems are different, but they all offer a lot of knowledge, there is a lot of homework for us to do, we like project work. We have good food at schools and our parents and teachers want us to eat healthy food.

WHAT WERE THE DIFFERENCES IN THE DIFFERENT COUNTRIES? Children who live in rural areas don´t have sports centres but they still play sports. In cities, where live different cultures, there is more violence, vandalism. People and children learn to live in peace and to accept each other.

WHY DO WE THINK THESE DIFFERENCES EXIST? Different countries, different governments, different politics, different people, different history, different experiences, different geographical characteristics.

WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE DIFFERENCES FOR A COUNTRY? Differences are good if people respect each other.
