Blood Pressure Width of cuff –should be 40% of the circumference of the arm –lay lengthwise at midpoint of upper arm –hold outermost side of the bladder edges laterally on the arm –with other hand wrap the width of the cuff around the arm to determine whether the width is 40% of the arm circumference

Blood Pressure Bladder –length of the bladder affects measurement –bladder should be sufficiently long to almost encircle the limb –should be able to cover from 60 to 100% of its circumference
