Methods for Answering Multiple Choice Questions  Read the question and alternative answers with an awareness of qualifier words  Use the process of elimination and selection to answer questions  Read all the alternatives  Your first guess is your best guess

Methods for Answering Essay Questions  Make sure you understand what is being asked. Look for key terms such as “outline,” “define,” “contrast,” “critique,” etc.  Use a brainstorming technique  Create an outline from your brainstormed list  Write the essay focusing on handwriting, proper grammar, etc.  Read what you have written

Final Words  Remember, if you follow these steps, you can be confident that you did everything possible to succeed on your exams!  Ask for help if you need it!  NHS students and peer mediators will be visiting homerooms for additional support!  NHS will have quiet study sessions and tutors available on 1/15, 1/16 & 1/20 in rooms 142 during the school day. They will be there on 1/15 & 1/20 after school. Be sure to attend for some extra support.  Think positively! You can do it… GOOD LUCK GOOD LUCK
