What does the Bible say about the past? Romans 15:4 - For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Deuteronomy 4:9 - Only give heed to yourself and keep your soul diligently, so that you do not forget the things which your eyes have seen and they do not depart from your heart all the days of your life; but make them known to your sons and your grandsons. Deuteronomy 32:7 New Life Version (NLV) - 7 Remember the days long ago. Think of the years of all people. Ask your father and he will show you. Ask your leaders. They will tell you.

What does the Bible say about the past? Zechariah 1:4New Life Version (NLV) - 4 Do not be like your fathers. The men who spoke for Me in the past told them, ‘The Lord of All says, “Return from your sinful ways and from your sinful works.”’ But they did not listen to Me,” says the Lord. 1 Corinthians 10:6-11New Life Version (NLV) - 6 These things show us something. They teach us not to want things that are bad for us like those people did. 7 We must not worship false gods as some of them did. The Holy Writings tell us, “The people sat down to eat and drink. Then they got up to play.” 8 We must not do sex sins as some of them did. In one day 23,000 died. 9 We must not test the Lord as some of them did. They were destroyed by snakes. 10 We must not complain against God as some of them did. That is why they were destroyed. 11 All these things happened to show us something. They were written to teach us that the end of the world is near.
