3. Yankee ingenuity- American ability to solve problems in new & unique ways. Challenges of colonization made Americans willing to try new ideas.
4. Women- had more opportunity than their European counterparts.
5. Independent Spirit 1. Landownership= right to vote 2. Labor shortage + higher wages= landownership
6. Social Change 1. More democratic than Europe 2. Belief in self-government- fostered by early charters and practices
