 Where did Lewis and Seaman first meet? on a wharf  How were Seaman’s original owner and Lewis alike? They admired the dog

 What made Seaman want to go with Lewis? Seaman wanted to do something new  From information in the squirrel story, it is clear that? Newfoundland dogs can hunt in water

 Why did the author include details about the paws of Newfoundland dogs? To prove that these dogs are good swimmers.  Why does the author tell the story from the dog’s point of view? To capture the reader’s interest

 In this story, what does Seaman enjoy most? Pleasing Lewis  According to the story, the best way for Lewis to travel west is by… boat

 Why did Seaman feel that he and Lewis “fit together”? Seaman felt that he and Lewis “fit together” because they care about each other.

 Name one thing that made Seaman different from other dogs. One thing that made Seaman different from other dogs was that he had webbed feet.
