Naples Botanical Garden By Flor Serna

Volunteers Outside of the Garden volunteers like my self worked hard even when It is hot! and wet! However, the weeds still grow, the flowers and vines spill out of their parameters and the exotics just spread like crazy. Horticulture volunteers like myself help in the early-morning hours as well as the afternoon. One other thing volunteer can do is birding tours one of the interesting part of volunteers but only for experienced birders. volunteers like my self worked hard even when It is hot! and wet! Horticulture volunteers like myself help in the early-morning hours as well as the afternoon. One other thing volunteer can do is birding tours one of the interesting part of volunteers but only for experienced birders. backyard birders and other interested people who can be trained if are interested to help visitors spot our fine feathered friends.

The Vision Paradise: A place of bliss. A region of supreme delight. A state of happiness. Naples Botanical Garden is creating a world class paradise that combines delightful cultivated tropical gardens with beautifully restored natural habitats. The Garden connects people and plants through display, education, conservation and science. It will be a community gathering place and an exceptional venue for exploring our natural world as well as enjoying special events, traveling exhibitions and performances

The Green Garden The green garden is expanding and incorporating high performance and sustainable thegreen building practices into the design of the new landscape and facilities that’s being made. This process started when the Board recognized the importance of the Garden becoming the model of environmentally responsible building practices in the region. That led us to select Lake/Flato, the American Institute of Architects Firm of the Year in 2004 to be the Garden’s architects

Brazilian and Florida Garden A Brazilian garden, with a landscape from Naples’ mirror image latitude south of the equator. A Florida Garden, with native wildflowers and shrubbery, sabal palms, bougainvillea and a Calusa-patterned shell mound. An “enabling” of color and fragrance will flank it, to demonstrate the possibilities of gardening for people with limited mobility

My Experience The botanical is a wonderful experience to witness and volunteer in even when its being renovated because you have the experience, to be their when its new. The gardening, pottering and learning about the different types of plates and flower caught my attention. The volume of volunteers is high but it’s a friendly and educational place to help in. I enjoyed it very much that I will go back to finish my volunteer hours.
