Marijuana Plant whose leaves, buds, and flowers are smoked for their intoxicating effects. Individuals that use it are found to be 17 times more likely to use cocaine. It contains over 241 different chemicals, including THC.

THC D – Alpha – tetrahydrocannabinol The main psychoactive ingredient in marijuana. Stored in the body fat, and traces of it can be present in the blood for as long as a month.

Marijuana How does it work? Like other mood-altering drugs, it raises brain chemicals called dopamine. Dopamine- A chemical in the Brain that produces pleasurable feelings.

Health Risks of Marijuana Brain –Impaired short-term memory, reaction time, coordination. –Distorted sense of time, sight, touch, and sound. –Bloodshot eyes –Dry mouth –Decreased ambition and initiative.
