Afire Love by Ed Sheeran The song is about Sheeran's late grandfather who suffered from Alzheimer's disease for 20 years. He died of the disease in December 2013, two weeks after Sheeran began writing about it. Sheeran finished writing the song at his grandfather's funeral. The lyrics discuss Sheeran's reaction to the disease as a child all the way up until his grandfather's funeral.

Group Work—Poetry Devices Divide and define the poetry terms, and use the song “Afire Love” to find examples. If you can’t find examples in the song, then think of other songs and use those as examples. Create a mini poster of your poetry terms and examples. Make it pretty. Once everyone has finished the mini poster, glue the posters on to a sheet of chart paper. Make sure everyone’s name is on the final poster. Add any details to make it prettier.
