Symptomatic Calcifying Pseudotumour of Thoracic Spine which Resolved with the Indomethacin Treatment. A Case Report. Kwan MK 1, Abdelhai AM 2, Saw LB 1, Chan CYW 1 1 Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 2 Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Khartoum Teaching Hospital, Khartoum, Sudan.

A 48-year-old gentleman presented with symptomatic calcifying pseudotumor of thoracic spine and was treated with Indomethacin 25mg TDS for 8 weeks. The size of the mass reduced significantly at 8 th week follow-up and resolved completely at 16 th week of follow-up with excellent clinical outcome. Calcified pseudotumour of spine should be treated with a trial of Indomethacin before surgical option is being offered unless the patient has a significant neurology deficit that requires urgent surgical intervention. Summary

Figure 1: Initial presentation of CT and MRI scans showed a huge calcified pseudotumor impinging the spinal cord and left T9 exit nerve root. Figure 2: 8-week post Indomethacin treatment: CT and MRI scans showed a near complete resolution of the calcified pseudotumor.

Figure 3: 16-week MRI scan showed a complete resolution of the pseudotumor.
