The Percent Proportion Objective: To use the percent proportion.

The Percent Proportion In a percent proportion, one ratio or fraction compares part of a quantity to the whole quantity. The other ratio is the equivalent percent written as a fraction with a denominator of 100.

The Percent Proportion In these proportions, there will be a “number” fraction and a “percent” fraction. The percent fraction will always have a denominator of 100. Number FractionPercent Fraction

The Percent Proportion If the questions asks “what percent”, the unknown is in the percent fraction. If the questions asks “what number”, the unknown is in the number fraction. Number FractionPercent Fraction

The Percent Proportion What percent of $15 is $9? Set Up and Solve a Percent Proportion. Step 1 – Determine whether the unknown will be in the “number” or “percent” fraction.

The Percent Proportion What percent of $15 is $9? Set Up and Solve a Percent Proportion. Step 1 – Determine whether the unknown will be in the “number” or “percent” fraction.

The Percent Proportion What percent of $15 is $9? Set Up and Solve a Percent Proportion. Step 2 – Set up the number fraction, with the “parts” on top and the “wholes” on the bottom.
