marketing By Michael Rigden

marketing 1:marketing is the social and management process by which an individual’s and group’s obtain want they need and want through creating and exchanging value with others. Marketing is an activity through which the product and service reach the people or customers in an effective manner 2: Marketing is the process of understanding the market within which a business operates and satisfying customers’ needs in order to meet the business’s objectives.

Smart objectives Specific: the objective should state exactly what is to be achieved. Measurable: an objective should be capable of measurement-so that is possible to determine whether ( or how far) it has been achieved Achievable: the objective should be realistic given the circumstances in which it is set and the resources available to the business. Realistic: objectives should be relevant to the people responsible for achieving them Time bound: objectives should be set with a time-frame in mind. These deadlines also need to be realistic

Smart and operational objectives Operational objectives are what the business sets out to do in its production/sales in order to achieve the overall objectives or mission statements. The marketing objectives are what the marketing department sets out to do in order to be successful. The operational and marketing objectives need to be linked because if they are not then the business will be pulling in opposite direction possible with too much sales demand created and not enough production.

The marketing mix The marketing mix is made up of the four P’s price, product, place, and Promotion

price Price is important in marketing because the price must be reasonable for the product that is being sold. This will condition the customers number of purchase for example if it’s to expensive for the value it gives customers will not buy it. One of the methods of marketing your product by price is comparing it to other businesses or by giving special offer such as bog off which is buy one get one for free

product Product is important in marketing because without the product there is nothing to promote, strategically placed and priced.

place Place is about how a business gets its products to the customers. The objectives of distribution is clear. It is to: make products available in the right time in the right quantities. Distribution matters for a business of any size

promotion Promotion is the business of communicating with customers. It will provide information that will assist them in making a decision to purchase a product or service. Promotion could involve a celebrity wearing the business product.

B2B B2C Business to business marketing is when the manufacture tries to sell or encourage to sell to the retailer. This usually means that it is the whole sale part of the operation with this the customer doesn't need any fancy marketing there are only going to be interested in the price and terms of supply. Business to customer market this is the market I have been talking about earlier where the retailer tries to persuade the consumer to buy their product obviously this is much more expensive method than B2B as it will involve all of the four P’s combined to meet the whole marketing objective
