Training Objectives To ensure that each content contributor: Can easily create & manage content using CONTROLSITE Has confidence in continuing the management of their content independently Has an understanding of the purpose of CONTROLSITE & how it works Is aware of how the AWU website is managed, it’s aims & the functionality available
What is content management? Content management is the ability to enable appropriate personnel to effortlessly manage and deliver information across websites, intranets, & extranets. Content management relieves the bottleneck of information from IT departments by allowing those who are responsible for creating content to quickly and easily publish and manage their own information. Content Management Systems (CMS) (such as CONTROLSITE) are applications which provide user- friendly interfaces allowing non-technical people to manage and deploy content.
Why CMS for the AWU? The implementation of CONTROLSITE for the AWU will allow: Multiple editorial access to a number of contributors over a web-based platform Rapid & simple updating of website content without the need to use complex web authoring software Creation of a unique tool/model for information exchange between Authorities social services departments. Public facing section of the site & secure area for members, accessible via username & passwords Content personalisation for site users
