Industry Process ▪ Computers are strongly utilized in the position of Quality Controllers within industry. ▪ One such program called CMC is utilized where the machines are programmed to produce units of same quality thereby reducing defective components. ▪ Small computers known as Programmable Logic Controllers control machine function in the manufacturing process. ▪ CAD and CAM are used to design products or produce plant layouts

Another example would stock control associates who use computers to neatly organize the amount of inventory available and recognize when additional inventory must be purchased for replenishment

Engineering and Scientific Personal computers do the performance of both routine and complex calculations in fields such as Chemistry, Engineering, Physics and Aerodynamics Used to design and test new products such as missiles, aircrafts, home appliances and communications equipment.

Meteorological Department ▪ Calculates the likelihood that a storm system will form in a given area ▪ Projects the travel path of a storm that is already in existence enabling the human population in this path to prepare accordingly ▪ Allows the generation of an extended forecast models that predicts the weather over a needed time period ▪ Allows measurement of the oceanic water temperatures using measurement devices that have been placed in these oceans. ▪
