Determine the connotative meaning of words as they are used in a text; analyze the cumulative impact of specific word choices on meaning and tone. Warm up- Combine each of the following groups of sentences into a single sentence by putting one of the ideas into an adjective clause. Use commas where they are necessary. 1. Judy Wendon won the championship. She is a great athlete. 2. The motion was passed by the Student Council. I had stated it. 3. Tiffany dived in to help Kelly. Tiffany is the best swimmer in our crowd.
