Holocaust Memorial Day 27 th Jan 2016

It happened in concentration camps such as Auschwitz, and Treblinka in Poland. Belsen, Buchenwald and Dachau in Germany. In these extermination and concentration camps, more than 16 million people were killed during the Second World War. Where and When?

Who? Six million were Jews Ten million were Ukrainian, Polish and Russian civilians and prisoners of war Thousands of political prisoners Many others because of their personal preferences.

Children million children were killed, tortured and experimented upon

Armenia million people murdered The Holocaust million people murdered Cambodia million people murdered Bosnia ,000 people murdered Rwanda million people Darfur ,000 people murdered…ongoing Why have we not learnt the lesson yet?

Thinking back to the video… What role do we play? Bystander: Someone who watches whilst something bad happens Perpetrator: Someone who carries out a crime Now think about your role in society… In a fight, if you stand and cheer, are you as guilt as the person fighting? If you know someone is being bullied, but don’t tell anyone, are you allowing it to happen? If you like an offence post on Facebook, is it as bad as posting it? If you laugh at a racist joke, is it as bad as telling them?
