DIAGNOSTICS/OUTCOME Thoracic Ultrasound Pleural Fluid Cytology: Marked suppurative inflammation with bacterial sepsis BAL: Mild, mixed inflammation Bilateral chest tube placement Hospitalized for IV fluids, antibiotics, and chest tube management Discharged with instructions to continue Clavamox

DIAGNOSTICS/OUTCOME DIAGNOSTICS: Heartworm test: Positive Echocardiography: Moderate pulmonary hypertension and moderate right ventricular enlargement. TREATMENT Doxycycline 300mg PO BID for Wolbachia burden Adulticide Melarsomine Started on preventative ivermectin RECHECK-- 5 month later Heartworm Negative Decreased cardiomegaly and improved pulmonary hypertension
