Learning Tapestry Inventions - Light Bulb Done by: Shahira Afreen Kay Reong Maegan Ong David Ong

What is an invention? An invention is a new composition, device, or process. An invention may be derived from a pre-existing model or idea, or it could be independently conceived in which case it may be a radical breakthrough. In addition, there is cultural invention, which is an innovative set of useful social behaviors adopted by people and passed on to others. Inventions often extend the boundaries of human knowledge or experience. An invention that is novel and not obvious to others skilled in the same field may be able to obtain the legal protection of a patent.

Why we like this invention? We like this invention as it has an important role in our lives. Without the light that the light bulb produces, we will not be able to see in the dark and unfortunately, we will fall down and get injured. So, we like this invention very much and the light helps you to even look at the screen now!!!

Who is the inventor of the light bulb? The inventor of the light bulb is Thomas Edison Born Thomas Alva Edison February 11, 1847 Milan, Ohio, United States Death October 18, 1931 in West Orange, New Jersey Occupation Inventor, scientist, businessman Religion Atheist Spouse Mary Stilwell (m. 1871–1884) Mina Miller (m. 1886–1931) Children Marion Estelle Edison (1873–1965) Thomas Alva Edison Jr. (1876–1935) William Leslie Edison (1878–1937) Madeleine Edison (1888–1979) Charles Edison (1890–1969) Theodore Miller Edison (1898–1992) Parents Samuel Ogden Edison, Jr. (1804–1896) Nancy Matthews Elliott (1810–1871) Relatives Lewis Miller (father-in-law)

What is so interesting about a light bulb? Incandescent lamps make light by using electricity to heat a thin strip of material (called a filament) until it gets hot enough to glow. Many inventors had tried to perfect incandescent lamps to "sub-divide" electric light or make it smaller and weaker than it was in the existing electric arc lamps, which were too bright to be used for small spaces such as the rooms of a house.
