Thomas Alva Edison By Rachel H. Ouye

Intro I chose Thomas Edison because he invented many things that sounded interesting to me.Also he was the kind of person that was taunted by at first but became a famous person. He had problems in inventing but he would always try to solve it.

Childhood Thomas was born on February11,1847.In Milan,Ohio. He was the youngest Edison. He was known as Al when he was young.Thomas was very unusual.Thomas was also restless and mischievous. His mother Nancy Elliott Edison was a school teacher and his father Samuel Edison was a shingle maker.

Education When Thomas was first going to school he moved to Port Huron,Michigan there he went to school. There he went to school for 3 months. He had a very large but well shaped head the doctors thought he might have brain trouble. At school he was taunted by his classmates.Since that happened he had to be home schooled by his mother because she was a school teacher. There at home he learned quickly.

Accomplishments Thomas invented the phonograph also the kinetograph and kinetoscope. He also invented the improved version of the telephone. His most famous one is the electric light bulb.He worked hard on his inventions. Also he made the vote recorder but nobody bought it.Thomas made the stock ticker too.He also made the electric pen also the mimeograph and the microtasimeter and the storage battery.

Death Thomas Edison died on October 18,1931.During the years Thomas had a serious ailment that he collapsed. He died by having kidney disease and diabetes and he was ill.Everyone remembers the death of the most best inventor.

Conclusion I think I learned enough using a book a website and encyclopedia.I think I’m the exact opposite of Thomas Edison.I know because I don’t really work hard on doing things.I think I should try harder and harder.

Bibliography I used Britanica as my encyclopedia. For my website I used My book is Thomas Edison by Nicholas Nirgiotis.
