Here Comes Your King! (Mark 11:1-11)

“…On the way he asked them, ‘Who do people say I am?’” Mark 8:27 “When he was in the house, he asked them, ‘What were you arguing about on the road?’ But they kept quite because on the way they had argued about who was the greatest.” 9:33 “As Jesus started on his way, a man ran to him and fell on his knees before him.” 10:17 “They were on their way to Jerusalem with Jesus leading the way…” 10:32

“As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.” Luke 9:51 (NIV) KJV: “…He steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem.” The Message: “…he gathered up his courage and steeled himself for the journey to Jerusalem.”

“But you have come to Mt. Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly…” Heb. 12:22

Lesser loyalties “He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in. He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing. No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root in the ground, than he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away life chaff.” Isa. 40:22-24 “He sets up kings and he deposes them.” Dan. 2:21

Lesser loyalties Fickle faith

“Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject you as evil because of the Son of Man.” Luke 6:22 “Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” 2 Tim. 3:12 “For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him…” Phil. 1:29
