Language Arts – Warm Up 10/22/15 SIT IN YOUR YELLOW GROUPS. Remember, this week, classes are VERY SHORT!  Come in and begin your work IMMEDIATELY!  “The Devil’s Arithmetic” Movie  Read the background and preview the questions so that you’ll be prepared. Otherwise, you’ll be very lost!  There is NO HOMEWORK PACKET this week. You can prove this to your parents by showing them our class blog.

Language Arts – Work Session 10/22/15  Essential Question: How can I apply reading and vocabulary skills to aid in comprehension?  Standard: ELAGSE6RL1 – Cite textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.  Standard: ELAGSE6RL– Determine a theme and/or central idea of a text and how it is conveyed through particular details; provide a summary of the text distinct from personal opinions or judgments.  Standard: ELAGSE6RL3– Describe how a particular story’s or drama’s plot unfolds in a series of episodes as well as how the characters respond or change as the plot moves toward a resolution.
