Treasure Trove Tribune Mrs. Scott-Ellis’s Weekly Newsletter Sharpening skills for success! Week 12 SEP Conferences Attached to this newsletter you should find the following items: 1.Weekly Progress Report 2.Your student’s graded work from the week 3.An ELA page that includes: spelling list, vocabulary, and the weeks reading skill focus. I have reviewed my child’s work, and progress report. ___________________________________________________ Parent Signature I have the following concerns and/or questions: __________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________ Student Self Assessment Write (Y) for yes, (A) for Almost and (N) for No ____1. I can use 2 strategies to solve a division problem ____2. I know the parts of a division problem ____3. I can draw the gallon man to help me with liquid measurements. ____4. I can name 4 ways to conserve soil and /or water plus state why they are important resources. Name______________#___ Thank you parents for your attendance and support in establishing goals for your students. I greatly appreciate the support that was expressed stating you appreciated the weekly newsletters and progress reports. I would like to restate that my dream is to have all my students attend college and/or other forms of higher education. Therefore, I maintain a higher rigor and expectations than most, if at any point the level of expectations are too much for your student. I am more than willing to make accommodations. I truly want your student to acquire the academic skills, as well as the social skills to be successful. We are a TEAM and T ogether E veryone A chieves M ore

As a result of discussions during conferences I would like to provide the following information: 1.Assignments and /or newsletters that are over 2 weeks late are then given a (0) score. Therefore, if you call and ask several weeks later, if there are any missing assignments, the response could be no, because it has been entered as a 0 score. Students grades can be accessed at anytime through the dsd account system, and can provide a more accurate accounting of grades verses phone calls during the school day. (All newsletters are posted on the class website). Please understand that students must learn there are time limits given to many things we must deal with in life, and no I do not personally take things out of their homework folders, it is the students responsibility to respond to requested assignments and/or place into the assignment box. 2.The science score your student may have received on their 1 st term report card relating to weather patterns, is based on their ability to record daily weather data. This data is collected daily. As the year progresses, student will learn about the instruments used to measure these components, and use the data to make predictions about the weather. If you are concerned about that grade, please encourage your student to stay focused during the day and complete all planner page activities.3 3.I am including a question and concern area in the weekly newsletters so that each week, concerns can be addressed. It is truly my pleasure to serve you and provide the best education possible for your student. Thank you! Winner of Book Drawing Special Rock Presentation Special Water Presentation
