BTEC First Business Motivation in practice Watch the video clips about staff motivation in two different organisations: First Direct: Human resources objectives and Firefly: Motivation.

BTEC First Business Motivation – outline theory Happy motivated worker? wages and bonuses security, comfort, safety praise and encouragement personal development

BTEC First Business Motivation in First Direct Happy motivated worker? culture people experience fun and games teamwork

BTEC First Business Motivation in Firefly Happy motivated worker? challengeinspirestretchteamwork

BTEC First Business Task Stewart Bromley of First Direct says: ‘we don’t believe in motivating staff at First Direct’. Obviously, First Direct need motivated staff, so how do they become motivated? If you need to, watch the video clip again and write out your own summary.

BTEC First Business Task Produce a display (poster, images, slides) to show how motivation in First Direct and Firefly seems to work. In the display, try to contrast these practices with theories of motivation.
