 The Fun Run is tomorrow! Wear tennis shoes and jackets/layered clothing.  Valentine Parties, Friday, Feb. 12 th (boxes prepared, small treat and cards). More information to come…  The district art exhibit is February th at the Center for Families.  Field Trip to experience a concert on February 25 th ($5).  Read Across America Day, Feb. 26 th (Volunteer Readers Are Welcome!) Your child may wear pajamas.  We will be taking a field trip to the Children’s Museum in Jackson at the end of March/ beginning of April. The cost is $25. More details to come…

 Blends, vowel teams, syllables  Synonyms, antonyms  Main idea and details, comparing and contrasting fiction and non-fiction texts, supporting answers with text features  Adjectives, verbs, verb tenses, prepositions  Informational and opinion writing

 Time (hour, half-hour)  Length (non-standard units, comparing)  Place value, comparing, ordering numbers within 100  Adding and subtracting within 100  Using a 100 chart, open number line, base-10 blocks, and mental math strategies

 Completed daily for spiral review  Reviews previously taught skills  Introduces basic skills ahead of time to prepare students for upcoming units  This is one way that we consistently practice previously taught skills and concepts.  See next slides for an example of each…

Organization – keeping folders and cubbies organized and cleaned out Independence – have them pack their bag and folder each night – make a list of things they are to pack each night and let them take responsibility for it – begin using an alarm clock – tie their own shoes – open their own containers Following Directions

Sign reading log nightly (back of your child’s red folder). Be on time! Remember, if your child comes after 7:35, he or she is missing instruction. Be present! If your child is going to be absent, please text me and just let me know. Send an excuse the next day. Send a snack daily if you choose. Please have your child complete his or her homework and turn it in on Fridays. This is an important time to practice and prepare for tests. If your phone number or address changes, please let us (and the office) know as soon as possible.
