Class expectations Be respectful Come prepared Be productive What else would you add?

What you need to bring to class Pens, pencils, paper Calculator Binder or folder Textbook Homework, completed Notes (organized in an orderly fashion)

Class Topics Problem Solving/Algebra Review Linear Models Systems of Equations and Inequalities Functions, Relations and Transformations Exponential, Power, and Log Functions

What I expect that you will have already studied One year of Algebra, including: Solving equations Statistics and Probability (possibly) Linear Equations and Inequalities Systems of Equations and Inequalities Exponential Properties and Functions Polynomials, Factoring, and Quadratics Comparison of Functions (Linear, Quadratic, Exponential)

Grading Tests and Projects: 50% Daily Work: 40% Concept Checks: 10%

A few things about daily work Homework is due the following day. We will review homework in class. Sometimes, at my discretion, you will receive a completion grade for homework. Other times, I will ask you to copy down your answers for a few questions and grade the accuracy of these questions for your homework grade. Come prepared for either!

A few things about concept checks and tests Concept Checks are little quizzes. You cannot correct concept checks. Concepts checks must be made up immediately after an absence. Test are the culmination of a unit. You are able to make test corrections, for ½ point back for every point you missed. Tests make-ups must be scheduled immediately after an absence.

Questions?

Brainstorm What do you like about math? What would you like to review?
