Support Sections/Chapters on Technical Activities Organizing technical programs Finding speakers from sections or regions Updating distinguished lecturers program Exploring society and R4 funding possibilities 17-Feb-16

Help Less Active Sections and Chapters on Tech activities Review Sections/Chapters technical activities for number of meetings, attendance level, reports, number of volunteers, etc. Suggest speakers from sections/regions, if needed Look for sources of funding from R4 and society Provide program assistance Visit Section/Chapter and provide guidance and tools

Coordinate Organization of R4 Conferences Help for finding conference sponsors Provide information and organization support Coordinate conf. activities with other R4 activity chairs Help sections in running a conference Provide help for eit conference issues 17-Feb-16

Tech Activities Committee Report 2010 Chair: Late Larry Hause Report by: Hamid Vakilzadian

IEEE SEM: Held 2 conferences for all societies (Apr. & Oct.) Goal: Encourage all the SEM chapters to organize speakers and technical event at these conferences. Communicated the conference info. to other R4 East Area sections. Made the Mount Pleasant IEEE chapters more active organized PACE and Tutorial days Saginaw chapters organizing 2 events per year. This can be made more active in Encourage IEEE events during ASEE North Central Section conference when in R4 East Area ( April1, 2011 at Mt. Pleasant). East Area Tech Activities: Subra Ganesan

Central Area Tech Activities Coordinator: Paul Tindal Worked hard to Rejuvenate the Northeast Wisconsin Section. Was involved in creating new Chapters. Worked with MGA Section-Chapter office to determine the Best Chapters in terms of number of valid meeting and other criteria. Provided views on some speakers to chapters Established contact between the Madison, Milwaukee, and N.E. Wisconsin sections. Coordinated 3 Wisconsin sections for providing response on continuing education rule for Board for Professional Engineers 17-Feb-16

West Area Tech Activities Coordinator Ed Neller Activities involved mostly Central Iowa section Tech presentation on extension of underground cable life, and large medium voltage VFD drives to meet IEEE 519 and their applications. Lessons from Defcon, SCADA Systems & GSM Hacking, New Nuclear Power Systems, Electrical problems on Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, Tour and Presentation Midamerican Energy Control Center (Larry VanWort), Presentation on Power Distribution and Facilities Mercy Des Moines First LEGO League Iowa State University 17-Feb-16
