Powerplants in Croatia

Wind poweplants (VE) Wind powerplants started developing around the late 80’s To this day in Croatia there are 8 wind powerplants with around 79 wind turbines Yearly they produce around 383 GWh of electricity (in comparison TE Plomin 3 produces around 2173 GWh) Most of them are in Primorska Croatia because of the strong winds

What’s the difference between a wind powerplant and a wind turbine? Wind turbineWind powerplant

Windturbines near Senj

Hydro powerplant Ombla Ombla is a river near Dubrovnik The river Ombla is situated on a sensible karst landscape There was a big discusion about the building of the Ombla hydro powerplant In the end it was decided that the powerplant is not going to be built

Thermal powerplants (TE) Plomin TE Plomin is a set of two powerplants (Plomin 1 and 2) The powerplants run on coal Plomin 3 is planned to be built until 2018 It is currently discussed if the powerplant will be run on coal or gas

Import Current import is about 20% (3870 W of W)

TE Plomin

Project ‘Gornji horizonti’ (upper horizons) Seven Hydro powerplants in the upper flow of the river Nertva There are concerns about draining the water from the valley of river Neretva

Valley of the river Neretva(dependant of water beacause of agriculture)
