The Evidence Left Behind A mini piano ,tobacco ,food, sewing machine, oil skins, raincoats, pipes where some of the many items left on the ship All items seemed to be dropped in a hurry A very large wood stove was moved across the floor The life boat was also missing

The People on Board There were 10 people aboard the ship when it first set off Captain Benjamin Briggs , wife Sarah Briggs , 2 year old daughter Sophia and 7 crew men Benjamin had sailed 2 other boats before purchasing the Mary Celeste

About the Boat Was first called Amazon First ten years of sailing she was involved in several accidents Made by Joshua Dewis in 1861 Changing the name was suppose to reverse the luck

Theories The most scientific theory is that there was a sea quake that rocked them off the boat That there was a leak in the cargo and they thought it was going to explode so they temporarily left the boat but it floated away A water spout that washed them away off the boat

Who Found it The first mate on the Da Gratia spotted the ship through a spyglass He bored the ship and sailed it He found it on Dec 4,1872 The boat was said to look very creepy sailing alone
