Captains of Industry Positive term used to describe business leaders whose methods and means to amassing wealth contributed positively in some way to the country by providing more jobs, expanding markets or philanthropy.  Philanthropy  actions that improve the well-being of humanity through charitable aid or donations.  Comes from the Greek Philos = Loving Anthropos = humankind

Robber Barons Negative term used to describe business leaders who gained their riches at the expense of the poor and the working class or by using unfair business practices or anti-competitive means.
