Networking: The Ripple Effect

What is Networking? The act of identifying and connecting with people who can influence one’s ability to access desired job opportunities &/or advancement within one’s career.

Networking: Purpose “Open doors” to career opportunities. Making and maintaining connections with people are excellent means to learn about job opportunities and increase visibility around one’s skills, knowledge, interests etc.

Networking: Purposes (Con’t) 1. Inform an individual about what it is like to work in an occupation or organization. 2. Help one understand the skills, training and knowledge an individual needs for a particular occupation and or job.
