Presentation transcript:

Where are YOU going?  Have you thought much about your future?  Do you have plans for what you’d like to do in the next couple of years?  Have you asked yourself what kind of career you want to have… what kind of lifestyle?  What does a successful you look like?

Take a look at the bigger picture…

1. Reflecting in Deep Thought  It’s time to start reflecting…  What are your gifts, talents, natural abilities?  What are the skills or knowledge you want to develop?  What are you passionate about?  How are you going to get there?  How are you going to pay for it?

2. Write it Down!  Many people who have achieved their dreams took the first step towards achieving them: they wrote them down.  Review your goals/dreams often… revise them when needed.  Yes, you can change your mind, your direction, your goal!

3. Plan a Route to Get There  Make short-term plans that will help you get to the long-term goal.  What stops will you make along the way?  What if there is a detour?

4. Work Your Plan  Put your plan into action TODAY by following the route to your dream. It may mean adjusting some things… it may mean a lot of effort and hard work… it may mean putting off fun things for awhile.

5. Start Saving  What do you need to start saving up for?  You might need a car (then you WILL need gas and insurance)  Dating, a road trip!  College  Start out small… it adds up over time!

6. Dismiss Negativity  Attitude – be positive about the direction you are going.  Begin to speak your future in the present. This will assimilate into your mind and help you persevere towards your dream.

7. Enjoy the Ride!
