MARKETING – UNIT 4 PROJECT FINANCIAL LITERACY 101

STEP 1: DO YOUR RESEARCH There are many places to find information you can use to develop your financial literacy website. You can use the internet, the library, etc. You can also talk to people in the community. Seek the trusted opinions and ideas of people you know. Pg. 1 of report – Answer questions listed under STEP 1. Questions should be listed and answers should be 1 paragraph each in length (5 full sentences).

STEP 2: PLAN YOUR PROJECT You will be required to conduct a survey to evaluate users’ needs and determine important topics before designing your website. You should be able to explain why you chose your design and topics. Your explanation of the website choices should include a discussion of mathematics, communication skills, technology, and interpersonal skills. Pg. 2 of report – this page will explain your website choices through discussion of mathematics, communication skills, technology, and interpersonal skills.

STEP 3: CONNECT Connecting with members of the community is a great way to grow relationships. Young individuals who build solid relationships with caring, responsible, and competent adults are more likely to achieve success in life. Pg. 3 of report – You will conduct an interview with a member of your community to discuss financial literacy. Take notes during the interview. You must include one quote form the individual and must include their business card taped to your report.

STEP 4: SHARE YOUR INFORMATION You will share your financial literacy project with the class by showing us your Financial Literacy Website storybook template that you will be working on in class. You will also show us a short slideshow presentation highlighting the main points listed in step 4.

STEP 5: EVALUATE YOURSELF Review key evaluation points in book. Use the evaluation checklist provided to make sure all key points are covered.
