Introduction to Sensors and Calibration Factors

Choosing a suitable recording range on a data logger Logger will have several range options: e.g. -10 to +10 mV, -100 to +100 mV, to mV To choose the optimum range… Step 1: Estimate the expected max and min values of the variable being measured. Step 2: Obtain the calibration factor of the sensor (e.g. 10 mV / degree C for a temperature sensor) Step 3: Estimate the max and min signals expected by multiplying info from Step 1 by info from Step 2. Step 4: Choose range to get best precision without over-ranging. Which of the above range options would you choose for a temperature sensor with cal factor of 1mv / degree C?
