GENDER ROLES AND DIFFERENCES

Definition These are norms appropriate for men or women in a social set up.

Gender roles Both men and women have got their roles to play.Women for example are entitled to doing such duties as fetching water from the river, look for food for the family and even taking care of children in the family.

Roles played by men Men on the other hand took care of the domestic animals such as cattle by taking them for grazing and doing such activities as hunting.

Penalties Traditionally, when one failed to perform the duties bestowed on him or her then such a person would face penalties.For example, they would be canned if they were women

CONCLUSION Today, the world has changed and everyone has to change with the changing times. This has seen a change in the roles played by both men and women as well in that today, men can perform female duties and vice vasa.
