IRT Management Toolbox

Background  Needs analysis identified a gap for senior level IRT employees to access a basic workshop/training session which will assist in becoming an effective supervisor/manager within IRT  Feedback from Managers across the business identified the areas within the business they would like a workshop delivered on.  GLT have approved a proposal for an IRT Management Toolbox Program to be developed and rolled out across the group in 2014

Objectives The program will be delivered as a blended model of delivery. Participants will complete a pre work book component. This will be followed by a 2 day interactive session with the facilitators. At the end of the session the participants will complete an assessment task.

Benefits  An effective management toolbox program for IRT staff will ensure clear guidelines are in place and effective processes are followed;  This will lead to a better understanding of IRT Practices;  This then leads to improved morale, culture and productivity across the board.

Who are the Facilitators?  The facilitators for these sessions are our subject matter experts (SME’s) and are current IRT employees.  The IRT SMEs will provide all the content and facilitate the interactive workshop sessions relevant to their area of expertise.

Roadmap  The OD team will work closely with the SME’s to develop the program content.  Finalise the program structure and schedule sessions into 2014 IRT Education Calendar  Run pilot program March/April 2014  Collate the feedback from the pilot Management Toolbox Session; and  Optimise through continuous improvement

IRT Reward & Recognition

Kathleen O’Sullivan Award The Kathleen O’Sullivan award recognizes that this employee, at their own expense of either time or money, has undertaken learning externally in a field or an endeavour that will assist IRT in its delivery of care, services, and accommodation to the elderly.

In addition to undertaking the external learning, the employee displays exemplary conduct and commitment to their duties. The winner of the Kathleen O’ Sullivan Award will receive $1000. Nominations are to be made by LLT, LMT, GLT or ELT. GLT will select the winner.

Learning in Practice The concept for the award is for staff to nominate a colleague from their workplace who best applies their learning and expertise in their workplace.

Nominations will be considered from staff members who: are aware of their colleague’s learning; observe improvement to residents’/clients’ quality of life; and observe improvements in the work performance of the person they are nominating

The winner of the Learning in Practice Award will receive a $500 gift card. Nominations are to be made by LLT, LMT, GLT or ELT. GLT will select the winner.

Send nominations to Winners will be presented with their award at the IRT Annual Achievement Award Ceremony in February 2014

Thank-you
