doc.: IEEE /0287r2 Submission January 2006 Adrian Stephens, Intel Corporation What would I propose to do in TGn? The job of the editor is to make sure that drafts are available as directed by the TG based on approved motions in TGn –The first job is to complete the TGn selection process by turning the confirmed technical specification into a candidate TGn draft. –The editor only implements technical decisions of the group, the editor does not create technical content. While accepting the responsibilities that come with the position, I would form an editorial panel to assist me in this work, leveraging the skills, knowledge, experience and resources available in the TGn membership. I have already been offered help from 15 TGn members, mainly JP, but also including non-JP. My goal is to have a high quality draft for the March 2006 meeting that is consistent with the confirmed technical specification. –A secondary output of this process is the identification of technical issues that need to be resolved in TGn during either letter ballot or TGn review.

doc.: IEEE /0287r2 Submission January 2006 Adrian Stephens, Intel Corporation What needs to be done before March? First step: planning meeting to be held as soon as convenient –Update from Editor (Simon Barber) and vice chair (Harry Worstell) on the policies and procedures and job of the editor –Identify who can provide what skills and what level of support –Devise a plan of who does what and when to meet March goal Tentative list of steps that need to be performed: –Identify the appropriate baseline documents –Restructure tech spec document to match baseline, with correct section numbers –Review structure –Review and identify sections that require changes –Insert new material for changed sections –Technical Review –Editorial Review Language Graphics Formatting Adherence to IEEE-SA 2005 style guide
