EDUPHORIA: PDAS Jaime Morales October 17, 2014 EDTC 3332 Instructional Technology
Needs Assessment: An important aspect of every school administrator’s role is the efficacy of leadership which translates to the efficacy of the running of the school beginning with the monitoring of instruction. For years, administrators have relied on observations and walkthroughs that are documented with pen and paper and eventually typed into a Microsoft word document for summative evaluations.
Needs Assessment: with improvements in technology, administrators have access to a simpler process that takes less time and can quickly be viewed both by the administrator and the teacher. The instructional/training problem or opportunity. The learning problem encountered is that administrators feel somewhat comfortable with working with technology, they feel they could learn and adapt quickly, but do not feel proficient in working with the software used in the district.
Needs Assessment: The availability of an online tutorial would help to meet the needs of administrators and allow them the provision of skills needed to support instruction through monitoring, evaluation and feedback using Eduphoria: PDAS.
Instructional Goal: After completion of the Eduphoria: PDAS training, the administrators of the Donna ISD will be able to successfully navigate and access the Eduphoria: PDAS module and all of its features and components.
Performance Objectives: Objective 1: Using Eduphoria: PDAS (CN), the learner will create and submit a walk- through/observation evaluation using PDAS and demonstrate steps to allow viewing (B) with at least 90% accuracy (CR).
Performance Objectives: Objective 2: Using Eduphoria: PDAS (CN), the learner will generate a report or graphs relating to their campus data to demonstrate the number of walk-throughs per teacher and export to EXCEL for future use (B) with at least 90% accuracy (CR).
Performance Objectives: Objective 3: Using Eduphoria: PDAS (CN), the learner will demonstrate how to create an intervention plan, and where to provide input and how to print for documentation (B) with at least 90% accuracy (CR).
Performance Objectives: Objective 4: Using Eduphoria: PDAS (CN), the learner will create and submit a walk- through/observation evaluation, demonstrating how to create a variety to meet the content areas of ELA, P.E., Early Childhood and Science (B) with at least 90% accuracy (CR).
Assessment of Learning Outcomes: Performance ObjectiveAssessment 1.Objective 1: Using Eduphoria: PDAS (CN), the learner will create and submit a walk-through/observation evaluation using PDAS and demonstrate steps to allow viewing (B) with at least 90% accuracy (CR). Each participant will have the opportunity to practice inputting information into Eduphoria: PDAS in creation of an walkthrough form. 2. Objective 2: Using Eduphoria: PDAS (CN), the learner will generate a report or graphs relating to their campus data to demonstrate the number of walk-throughs per teacher and export to EXCEL for future use (B) with at least 90% accuracy (CR). Each participant will be able to generate a campus data report assess each other on one printed report.
Assessment of Learning Outcomes: Performance ObjectiveAssessment 3.Objective 3: Using Eduphoria: PDAS (CN), the learner will demonstrate how to create an intervention plan, and where to provide input and how to print for documentation (B) with at least 90% accuracy (CR). Each participant will have the opportunity to practice inputting information into Eduphoria: PDAS in creation of an intervention plan incorporating all eight domains. 4.Objective 4: Using Eduphoria: PDAS (CN), the learner will create and submit a walk-through/observation evaluation, demonstrating how to create a variety to meet the content areas of ELA, P.E., Early Childhood and Science (B) with at least 90% accuracy (CR). Each participant will have the opportunity to practice inputting information into Eduphoria: PDAS in creation of an walkthrough form.
Learner Characteristics: My target audience are Donna ISD School administrators. The learner demographics for my participants are a wide range from new administrators to veterans with 10 plus years if experience with ages ranging from The needs assessment identified that administrators new to “Donna ISD” have not worked with a program called Eduphoria nor have they received training..
Learner Characteristics: It was learned that the veteran administrators in the district had also not received training on the program which they have been required to use for at least five years. The learning problem encountered is that administrators feel somewhat comfortable with working with technology, they feel they could learn and adapt quickly, but do not feel proficient in working with the software used in the district. To now there has not been a professional development on any of the available programs available.
Learner Characteristics: All participants are aware of the technological tools that are available for learning but some administrators barely touch the surface with the capabilities of eduphoria. As administrators they are fluent in reading and writing, as well as self directed and motivated and would benefit from further direction.
Learner Characteristics: The learning context that I propose for my project is an online training module that allows a self-paced training allowing more flexibility and opportunities for practice.
Learning Context: To derive the most benefit, the instructional setting for this training will be in the technology lab which allows access to a minimum of 25 computers and with a trainer and assistant for support. This computer lab is ideal because it was set-up so that participants could have access to the internet since the program is web-based.
Learning Context: Since the module will be accessible online the participant who has online access at home could go through the module ahead of time.
Training Module Outline: Introduction: (a) Eduphoria pdas is a user-friendly multi-faceted systemic software that significantly reduces the amount of paperwork involved for administrators and allows for web-based teacher self-reports, walk-throughs, observations, evaluations, and intervention plans. Statement of Goal and Objectives (b) The focus of my training will address Eduphoria pdas and available features which I feel will benefit the administrators in accomplishing a more streamlined documentation system, maximize their current time for observations and walkthroughs, provide linkage between instruction and lesson plans for consistency, and improve the rate of feedback and recommendations for improvement.
Training Module Outline: Training Goals (a) Learn the basics of Eduphoria: PDAS (b) Learn how to create a walk-through form (c) Learn how to create an observation form (d) Learn how to create an intervention plan Training Steps to create walk-through or observation (a) Using Mozilla Firefox log into Eduphoria using hyperlink on donnaisd.net (b) Select PDAS application (c) Select teacher to create walk-through form for by highlighting name (d) Select new evaluation (e) Select observation or walk-through (f) enter date and time

Instructional Resources: Computers with Windows 7 or higher Mozilla Firefox Whitenboard Eduphoria Software Internet Access PDAS hardcopy and associated materials
Training Module Blueprint: Eduphoria: PDAS Introduction Create a Walkthrough Form Create an Observation Form Create a Summative Form Create an Intervention Plan
Formative Evaluation: The participants will create a PDAS walkthrough form on his/her own, following all the sequential steps using Eduphoria. The trainer will monitor them to check for understanding. Participants will create an intervention plan without or minimal assistance from the trainer.
Summary The proposed online tutorial using Eduphoria: PDAS will ensure that administrators maximize on the instructional day for walk-throughs, observations, feedback and instructional support. Module completion will ensure mastery of the skills needed to create and submit items related to Eduphoria including creating a PDAS walk-through and observation form, an intervention plan, and be able to print out a report of weekly and monthly walkthroughs and observations.
