Focus the Educator Evaluation Rubrics on district and school priorities to create "power elements." All standards and indicators still in use, but district focuses on seven "power elements for teachers, SISP, building level admin and superintendent. Developed jointly by administrators and WSEA. Approved by school committee. Team Goals: Step One

Team Goals: Step Two Define and train teams. Teams developed by administrators with oversight from WSEA. Educators trained by superintendent and WSEA co-president. Examined District Improvement Plan, School Improvement Plan goals and power elements.

Teacher Goals Year 1--After training, provided time for teachers to develop team goals. Year 2 o Training teachers in smaller groups o Providing time to review progress at the end of training session. o Necessary because of mixed teams

Keeping the Process Alive and Overcoming Challenges

Professional Development (Part 1) Developed resource compendium of articles, videos, and websites related to power elements. Completed text-rendering protocol of professional article during every leadership meeting.

Professional Development (Part 2) Coordinated teacher and administrator professional development to be in line with improvement plans and power elements. Three examples o PLC Expansion Project o Reading and writing in content areas o Development of curriculum guides

Ongoing Collaboration with WSEA Developed list of suggested artifacts Original developed by MTA Adapted to be as tangible as possible for WSPS educators
