 Alter- spay neuter  Euthanasia- “put to sleep”  “No kill” - Facility, or ideology, dedicated to not euthanizing healthy, adoptable animals  Shelter  Very high euthanasia rates  Rescue Group  Generally “no kill” facilities

 Too many homeless pets  Overcrowded shelters  Millions of healthy, adoptable pets euthanized every year

Why is this a problem? shelters in America -5 to 7 million animals enter shelters every year -3 to 4 million a year euthanized -60% of dog -70% cats (ASPCA.org)

 Average size of a litter- 5  Average litters a year- 2  Cost to alter a pet is less than the cost of caring for a litter for one year (Dr. Blount, Bountiful Animal Hospital)
