YouTube Multimedia literacy requires working knowledge of many different types of media The audio in this YouTube clip is a lecture given by Sir Ken Robinson on the education paradigm The animation is done by a separate entity called RSAnimate The highly visual animation holds viewers' attention and makes the topic salient and important This is an example of Multimedia Literacy because it incorporates different types of media into one unified whole Click on the image above to watch the video. Using pre-existing educational tools found for free online is a great way to use technology in the classroom, promoting attention and motivation for the lesson at hand.

GeoGebra GeoGebra is a free web applet (or download) for teaching and learning mathematics Teachers can project this on a SMART board to demonstrate geometry to the whole class, encourage its use on individual assignments, or utilize its features for student collaboration and group work It requires teachers and students to master this technology literacy, but also adjusts for prior experience Above is a screenshot of GeoGebra in action. Click on the image above to explore this web applet...

D2L – Desire 2 Learn D2L is a website that allows students and teachers to interact and share information easily outside of a classroom. D2L has many features for students to communicate with the professor as well as with other students. One way to share with other students is through the discussions board tab. You can post new information as well as repsond to other posts but other students Teachers can post online quizzes for students to take or post announcements they may have forgot to mention in class This is an example of multimedia Literacy because Student collaboration and technology should go hand in hand.

Adobe Connect Adobe Connect allows individuals to hold a "conference call" You can view the desktop of other people within the conference call and see what they type or edit on their screen You can also share documents so everyone can edit the same document This is an example of mutimedia literacy because Literacy is traditionally the ability to read and write; but with the increase in use of computer technology and multimedia, literacy is no longer basic.

The Kindle The Kindle allows a portable way to read books Textbooks as well as leisurley reading are available Students can use the Kindle to hold many books at the same time This technology encourages reading and learning Click on the photo above to learn more about the Kindle.

Glogster Online Posters Accentuates ideas Shows Creativity Allows multi-media incorporation Potential to be all inclusive with regards to participation and sources Click on the photo above to explore Glogster.
