Working in a Group – What is your role? Entertain them! How about a song, dance routine, or comedy sketch? You could always tell a good old-fashioned joke! Whatever you choose, make sure you dress-up to do it - you could even wear Pudsey ears! (add your own ideas) Include them! Ask for volunteer members of the audience in your Assembly - ask them questions or teach them a song with funny actions! Why not ask your teachers to do something silly? (add your own ideas) Surprise them! Do something unexpected! Find an exciting way to reveal your fundraising total. And don’t forget to wow them with your celebrity videos! (add your own ideas) Inform them! Remember that BBC Children in Need has a serious side too. Let everyone know how important the money raised will be. (add your own ideas) Congratulations - you are putting on the Best.Assembly.Ever.! That’s a big task, but Heroes like you should have no problem coming up with awesome ideas to make it something to remember. You could... Now work in a group to come up with some of your own ideas... (10 minutes)

Working in a Group – What is your role? Facilitator Your job is to lead the discussion. You are not in charge, but you do decide whose turn it is to speak. You must make sure that everyone has their chance to share their ideas. Recorder You are responsible for writing down anything important that the group needs to remember. You can write in note form, as long as you can read your own notes! Reporter You will be responsible for sharing the group’s ideas with the rest of the class. Make sure you keep to the point and only include the important information. Timekeeper Your job is to make sure that that the group sticks to the time limits set for each task. Make sure they don’t talk for too long about one idea, or get sidetracked onto another topic! Questioner You are in charge of looking for any possible problems with the ideas that the group discuss. You should always be thinking about what could go wrong with any idea. Task-Master Your job is to keep making sure that the group are sticking to the task, and that they have done everything that was asked of them.
