Chelsey White United Way Teen Pregnancy Prevention

 This picture was published in December This picture was made for Milwaukee, they have the highest teen pregnancy rate. They try to keep their teens alarmed, and this issue at the top.

 Why do you think they picked red font?  Who is the intended audience of this photo?  What do you notice about the colors?  What appeal(s) do you think it has?

 Why did they use red font?  Usually whenever you see she color red it means stop, error, or it just catches your attention as something isn’t right. Since teen pregnancy is a big issue these days, they get your attention by using the alarming color of red.

 Who is the intended audience of this photo?  I think the intended audience would be the people who don’t realize that teen pregnancy is as big of a deal as it really is. They want those people to know that it is a huge deal and it can be fixed.

 What do you notice about the colors?  When I looked at the picture I noticed that the colors in the background, as well as the boy, are lighter and more of a tan color. However, the text and the border pop out, because they are a brighter red.

 What appeals do you think this picture has?  I think it has Logos and Pathos.

 Logos: Because it shows the fact that teen pregnancy is a common thing that is looked over. It also shows that people would actually take it seriously when it was a boy, but it should be the same way if it’s a girl.

 Pathos: This picture has Emotional appeal because it strikes the emotion sadness. It’s sad that teen pregnancy is growing at the rate it is, but people just look over it like it’s no big deal.
