Play of daylight in Federation Square In Federation Square there is an intense play of light in the public spaces. “boundaries have been smashed” It was inspired by the transparent skyscrapers of Mies Van Der Rohe, and Le Corbusier’s domino steel framed and glass skinned buildings. My aim in the renders is to show the intense play of light and, and the interaction between the structure and the shadows it casts. The building consists of an entire central city block in downtown Melbourne, Australia. The block consists of bars, restaurants, conference facilities, and lastly a huge art gallery that houses some of Melbourne's most expensive pieces.

BMW Edge - Perspective Section The light in this space is heavily effected by the 3 meter double glazing facades placed around 3 sides of the building. The light comes in, is refracted through both layers of the glass, and enters the space. This light looses its harmful UV property as it is absorbed by the glass. In the ceiling the light bounces off the ceiling panels and roof to evenly disperse light right into the heart of the space. As the glass walls span from floor to roof the light is propelled right into the core, providing an even distribution of light right throughout the room.
