Presentation transcript:

I was buzzing with excitement! This was going to be the most amazing camp! It was the last toilet stop when, YIKERZ!! My finger got stuck in the door HELP PLEASE! The annoying X-ray, huge mountains, extraordinary caves, great walks, smoking fires all around. These were great to do. CAMP WAS PHENOMINAL!!

Now that my finger had been stuck in the door I went to the doctors. They stuck a pin in my nail to release the pressure. Then they sent me to X-RAY but my finger was not broken. So Mrs Halpin came and picked me up and we headed to Wairoa to have lunch. I had lovely homemade lolly slice. It turned out Fran and I were the first ones to Camp Kaitawa. We had a walk to Green Lake and round the surge chamber. This got us saturated. It was like a world wide shower. WOW what a great first day!

Good morning chorused around the dinning room, echoing off the walls. Time to pack a day pack for Ngamoko, the native rain forest. So off we went up the mountain where we stopped. Right in front of our eyes was a giant Rata tree years old and 13m round. What a great area for morning tea. This is where we picked up a Moro bar and barley sugars, yum and energizing. A tiring walk but excellent for us. What a time it was. We were finally back when OH NO! Room inspection right in the middle of a game of YIKERZ. Later that night we watched Ice Age 3 Dawn of the dinosaurs.

Yet again breakfast, daypacks, and about to head off to a walk to Michael Noonan’s grave where there was a 9 month old baby’s grave and 2 other peoples. We also saw a old prison. We had lunch at a little hut. Then it was time to head off to the caves. I had a headlamp to use in the dark caves. Lots of people would have to duck down in the little ones. This got them wet and muddy. Our showers were 2:30 minutes. If we weren't out Mark would spray us with a cold hose. It was like ice!

On Thursday we walked to lake Waikareiti where we ate morning tea. After the return to the car park we ate lunch on an old wagon. Then we walked to the falls which were beautiful and huge. When we got back we went on the obstacle course. We soon after got called to the fires. We prepared the fires. When they were lit Mr Crawford called us and told us to practice for the talent show. Cooking the food was a long process but the food was scrumptious. The talent show was wonderful. Reignier are so talented.

Once more we ate Breakfast but this was the last time. My group were on dishes so we had less time to pack but we made it in time. Once everyone was done we played on the courts. In Wairoa we had hot chips and a bun. We were reunited with our families. Over all this was just the best thing in the world!!!! I wish I could do it again.
